Important Notice to Customers - Wndows 10 Upgrade

This notice was sent to KBM Enterprises, LLC customers 6/16/2015.

Hi… Excuse the bulk mail, but I need to get this out ASAP to everyone. I have been getting a lot of questions. People with only Apple computers can ignore this notice.

If you are running Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 and have automatic updates turned on, you may have noticed an icon that popped up in the lower right-hand corner of your start bar. (Looks like a Windows logo with no color.)

If you click on it, you are offered a free upgrade to Windows 10, the latest and greatest version of the Microsoft Windows operating system. This is a legitimate offer. For 1 year, Microsoft is offering free Windows 10 upgrades to anyone running a licensed up-to-date version of Windows 7 or 8.1.

Click at your own risk at this point. KBM will be installing the updates the end of this week. I expect to evaluate my experience with the new OS for a couple of months and then likely begin the upgrade process for all customers who are on a monthly support contract. Monthly Support customers will have a choice, but unless I have a very good reason not to install it, I will strongly recommend upgrade. My reasons are as selfish as Microsoft’s… the less operating systems I have to support, the longer my sanity will last.

For those who are not on a monthly maintenance contract or for machines that are not covered by that contract, I will post an interim evaluation in July. At that time, I will let you know what level of capability I think you should have to attempt the upgrade on your own and if I have experienced any issues during my upgrade(s). In addition, I will published a fixed price if you want KBM to do the upgrade for you. If you choose to upgrade without us, we will always be happy to fix your problems at the standard hourly rate;-) Listening to your problems and our best advice is almost always free.

If you have any questions, let me know.
